The OE backup camera in the tailgate of your truck is an important safety feature required to be installed by the manufacturer at the time of production on all new vehicles in the United States.
Unfortunately the addition of aftermarket equipment such as; service bodies and specialty truck beds, hatchback or walk-in door bed caps, swing-out tire carriers, slide-in and pop-up campers, and even general fifth-wheel towing. Often times resulting in the removal of a truck's tailgate means the removal and loss of the OE camera.
We offer a complete line of Analog and Digital (LVDS) interface harnesses and aftermarket cameras for your vehicle that plug directly into the connector on the underside of the vehicle near the rear bumper which allows you to keep this important safety feature while often using a camera that's superior in functionality to the OE one.
You bought the business a brand new vehicle to add to the fleet. The passenger truck is equipped with a standard bed and tailgate, handle-based OE backup camera system and works as intended when the tailgate is closed.
Even though the vehicle is equipped with a backup camera, when someone puts a slide-in camper or salt spreader in the bed, you'd fold down the tailgate to accommodate that equipment - camera is now pointed right at the ground.
The camera relocation kits allow you to add a camera to that aftermarket equipment and plug into the factory wiring to retain a backup camera view.
You ordered a cab & chassis vehicle or a box-delete vehicle. Because you receive the vehicle with no bed, it has no tailgate, thus no camera!
Goodnews, more times than not the wiring is there and you just need to select from one of our many kits to add the backup camera functionality to the vehicle.
Occasionally the vehicle needs programming at the dealership to activate the camera.
Another way is to purchase the vehicle complete as above then taken to an upfitter that installs service bodies who will remove the original bed and add the service body.
In some instances, some businesses will sell the truck with service body already installed on the vehicle as a complete package.
Either way, the bed is gone or removed and the backup camera with it so our relocation kits will let you add, or add back, that OE functionality.

Camera relocation housings are custom-designed fixtures meant to accept the OE camera from your vehicle's tailgate. These housings mount to any flat surface with a combination of automotive-grade VHB tape and machine screws. They are designed to angle the camera as they were when originally mounted. These housings are ideal for use when you want to remove the original camera from the tailgate handle and reinstall it in about the same angle while not requiring an extension harness.

The relocation housings with extension harnesses include the custom relocation housing mentioned above while including a 5M LVDS extension harness.
These kits are for use when you want to remove the original camera from the tailgate handle and installed further away from its original position in the tailgate.
The housing provides a sturdy mounting point for the camera while the extension harness provides the length to locate the camera further away from the tailgate.

The combination relocation housing, extension harness, and original equipment backup camera kits provide the ultimate solution when you want to retain the OE camera. These kits are perfect for when you don't want to bother with removing the original camera from a truck's tailgate, or for when the truck was delivered as a cab & chassis model with no backup camera. As above, the included housing provides a sturdy mount for the camera while the extension harness provides the needed length to locate the camera wherever you want on the back of the vehicle.
